Biography
Olive Senior is a Jamaican writer, currently based in Canada. She is the author of several prizewinning books, including the Commonwealth Writers Prize-winning Summer Lightning. Her non-fiction book Dying to Better Themselves: West Indians and the building of the Panama Canal was the winner of the 2015 OCM Bocas Prize for Caribbean Literature, non-fiction category, and her collection of short stories The Pain Tree won the 2016 OCM Bocas Prize for Caribbean Literature.
